Business Development Manager


The Business Development Manager is responsible for the Club’s overall business development covering Membership, Marketing, Corporate Sales and Guesthouse revenue generation.

To develop and drive Marketing campaigns in all areas of the Club, in a timely manner, creating an annual calendar for the benefit of increased Club exposure, participation and revenue generation.

This role includes hands on engagement, planning, advertisement, budget management, public relations, event organisation, communication, sponsorship and research.

To liaise and coordinate closely with all Department Heads, Committee, Sub-Committees and external stakeholders on conceptualising and delivering of key objectives.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:


  • To create and manage an annual Business Development Plan to achieve the Club’s targets in terms of membership numbers and member engagement, corporate sales such as catering events and private social events

  • To define and implement a communication and marketing strategy to increase the awareness for the Club and its value proposition for different target groups

  • To plan, present and execute a business development review to achieve sales and budget objectives and targets

  • To handle feedback and resolve complaints from members and guests in a proactive way

  • To provide feedback and input on a regular basis to Banquet Operation/F&B Manager and Executive Chef on service improvement and competitors’ creativities, initiatives and trends

  • To perform other duties as assigned

Membership Sales

  • To define and execute a membership acquisition strategy

  • To define and implement programs and initiatives to strengthen membership engagement, activity and retention

  • To explore and implement initiatives to improve the Club’s existing products and services, and profitability

  • To develop and implement creative and engaging membership marketing materials

Corporate Sales / Guesthouse

  • To define and execute a strategy to secure corporate sales for seminars and catering

  • To promote and sell corporate and social events in a systematic manner

  • To drive the conceptualization and running of events

  • To establish strong working relationship with clients and maintain accurate and updated information about their needs for their function


  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in progressively responsible Business Development position, preferably with a Bachelor degree, or equivalent experience in related fields

  • Strong English language skills (verbal and written)

  • Resourcefulness and positive mindset

  • Creativity and an eye for details

  • Hands-on self-starter with business drive and commercial awareness

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
